Seasick Mama for Ardency Inn
When makeup brands choose a face to represent them, it’s usually a familiar model or a classically beautiful, well-respected celebrity.Ardency Inn, though, is not your average makeup brand. This beauty newcomer takes its inspiration from the downtown-NYC music scene, with high-quality makeup for both rock stars and the women who love them. It’s beauty that encourages creativity, so basically, we’re obsessed with it. (It doesn’t hurt that makeup artist and R29 friend James Vincent is the head of artistry and education).
And, as for the new face of this super-cool company? Meet Marial Maher, also known as indie pop artist Seasick Mama. She’s featured in the spring campaign to promote their Americana collection, which is composed of natural-finish neutrals. With grungy mermaid hair, a great brow, and lots of tattoos, she’s not the kind of face we’re use to seeing in ad campaigns — and that’s why it’s so fabulous.
We caught up with Maher and picked her brain about her personal beauty routine. Read on to learn about her lavender-oil habit, the style she steals from her mom, and her secret to good hair on tour. (Hint: It doesn’t involve washing it.)
